Bahrain, Mar 26: The Karavali Sambrama – 2023 cultural program organized under the leadership of Roshan Shetty, known for his Girgit Tulu movie fame, at the outdoor stadium of Indian Club, enthralled thousands of art lovers and spread the fragrance of Tulunadu in the land of the Pearl Island.
The cultural procession began at 4 pm sharp with the beating of Tase and drums, accompanied by the Tiger dance team and various art exhibition tableaus, and entertained the audience till 12:30 am.
In the Pratibha competition, which was the main attraction of the event, teams of brilliant artists living in Bahrain, like Kalasha, Tulunada Tudar, Bahrain Billavas, Vishwa Taranga, and Canara Konkans, presented Janapada dances, comedy, and other variety entertainment acts for more than two hours.
Vivek Alva, Managing Director of Alva’s Educational Institutions, Naveen Shetty, a renowned choreographer, and Dr. Shakeel, a well-known social worker, were the judges of the Pratibha competition.
In the procession competition, the Bahrain Billavas team emerged as the winners, while the Kalasha team emerged victorious in the Pratibha competition. The Tulunada Tudar and Vishwa Taranga teams bagged the second and third spots, respectively.
The special guests of the event included music director Guru Kiran, Big Boss winner Roopesh Shetty, actor-director Devdas Kapikad, Sharmila Kapikad, actor cum director Saikrishna, music director Guru Bayar, Kannadiga entrepreneur of Australia Nishikant Semita, entrepreneur of Saudi Arabia Bajpe Zacharia, K S Sheikh, presenter R J Anurag, photographer Dayananda Kukkaje, Managing Director of Alva’s Educational Institutions Vivek Alva, and founder-president of Biruver Kudla Uday Poojary. All the guests were felicitated with shawls and mementos.
The program began with the Ganesh Vandana group dance by Pratima Charan. Cinema dances by Angels team directed by Preetam Acharya to the theme song of Karavali Sambrama enthralled the audience. Fifteen tiger dancers danced to the sound of renowned Tase players Urinjebettu Prabhakar, Roshan, and Yakshit Shetty.
Music director Guru Kiran sang three songs, highly demanded by the audience. Dr. Devadas Kapikad and Saikrishna presented the comedy skit of Comedy Bithil.
Delicacies of coastal Karnataka were kept for sale, and the audience relished them. The program was compered by R J Anurag Bangera, and Dayanand Kukkaje captured the thrills of the program on his camera. Roshan Shetty rendered the vote of thanks.
