Mangaluru: Swiss citizen Roland Spalti embarks on world tour on his bicycle

Mangaluru, Apr 6: Roland Spalti, a travel enthusiast from Switzerland has embarked on a unique expedition with the intention of touring the entire world on his bicycle.

Roland started his cycle expedition in August 2020 from Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The expedition was flagged off from the Federal Palace. Due to the pandemic, Roland could manage to cover the entire Europe only and it was not possible to tour the southern countries.

Roland caught a flight and landed in India during the end of November 2022.

Speaking to daijiworld.com, Roland Spalti said, "I enjoy exploring the world and want to know more about different cultures. It feel nice to meet people. Mangaluru is a nice place. In the future, I will tour various other countries."

Roland will continue his cycle expedition to Kerala, Tamil Nadu where he will touch Rameshwaram and then proceed towards Sri Lanka.

He now plans to tour Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines, Japan, United States of America and Africa before returning to Europe.

Roland has already completed his bicycle expedition in 30 countries.
