Udupi farmer's electric scooter catches fire; vehicle, nearby items gutted

Udupi, Apr 10: An electric scooter parked inside the residence of John Lobo, a farmer in Shankerpura, caught fire and was completely destroyed on Monday, April 10.

The incident was captured on video by family members.

The fire also damaged items that were in close proximity to the scooter.

Reports suggest that the fire was caused by the scorching heat of the sun.

    E scooter mfg licenses have been given to every TDH cos, without ensuring extensive testing under extreme conditions hence such accidents are bound to happen especially in the hot summer! Moreover, in places where there is no stable electric supply due to sloppy infrastructure and poor maintenance facilities escooters are a high risk buy!!
