Auto drivers specially in the railway stations I don't know what's the system there they charge too much from central railway to bolar they charged me 60+25=85 rs,i was shocked but as i was getting late i didnt want to question and create some nuisance there,it was in the afternoon time, but i don't know what's the scene u have a counter where u pay 25rs and than the auto drops u to ur location and they charge double the amount which actually u have to pay if it's meter charge, sadly i didn't question that day but i will once i be there again, and in junction railway station there's no one to question as there are no proper transport facilities available except auto they just rob u Black and blue, nobody has right to question even bcz in case u question there are chances they would come to fight as many of the auto people are they don't have manners and they don't speak politely, when u compare mangalore to other cities like bangalore,Chennai etc it's far better there it's like in daylight they can theft you so it's worse there, luckily police have taken this into consideration and i hope this doesn't continue in future

Once I traveled from KPT junction to Pilikula, and I for first time I heard Onjere Badige apund (1 and 1/2 fare), which means if your meter says 100rs then we have to pay 150. and the reason they gave for that fare is "Mulpad Pira Badige Sikuji Yenkleg".

After 5:30pm nobody goes beyond Nanthoor; plies only if you pay double; same from Kulshekar to city after 7pm; AND they call it a Smart City, where cost of living is much more than a top metro like Mumbai 🏙️!!

Rudy bro, you dont know our Mangaluruian autos are much safer and reliable than bengaluru, udupi and other districts of karnataka. Mumbai is very cheap. Nobody charged one and half rates after 5.30. After 9, yes they charge. Its true also, after 9, they won't get commuters from the dropping place. Eg. If an auto driver asked to go intetior places, will he get passengers? Thats why option is open. If you dont want, dont go. Secondly, about going to pilikula from kpt. Why to go in autos so far ? If ppl come to nanthoor, there are plenty of buses to go to pilikula. To come to nanthoor, there are plenty of buses from kpt. I heard from my friends and others and experienced myself once when i had been to Manipal, auto drivers are just looting. I agree with Shri Sarayu.

There was a time, when our Auto drivers were like orphans. We the citizens sympathised with them, even helped some. Today - Mangaluru is the most expensive city for transportation. All drivers make money. If they ride their vehicle after the union set times, it is because they need money. Why charged 50% more. As and when I come to Mangalore, I try and travel on Municipal Green busses. They are comfortable, clean and no competition amongst them. The Cab Unions must educate these drivers. Citizen are their bread and butter. Dont fleece them

Nowadays most of the Autos are fixed with multiple LED lights which is a nightmare for 2 wheeler riders. These ppl have zero sense of what issues these LEDs can cause to a incoming traffic. Traffic police should also consider these things and fine them.

Some of these auto drivers are crooks and looters. Once you board the auto and reach the destination then they will take the passengers for a ride demanding more fare than what is prescribed. They're fully supported by their notorious unions and once you get into argument all of a sudden all of them land and start fighting.

Here in Udupi each n every auto driver is corrupt more than politicians. They charge the fare whatever comes to your mouth. Once i called auto stand for an emergency purpose, auto driver took money without the meter plus ten rupees for calling the stand. Some autos dont have meters. 90% do not on the meter. Rest did adjustment in the meter and meter fly like eagle. Why RTO is quiet here ? No rules and regulations. Poor students and their parrnts are looted by these autos. Pride charbi has no limit.

I would say third class type of auto drivers, no manners or etiquette, who fleece the public left and right despite charging the highest meter rates in the entire country; it's adding to the bad name already acquired by Mangaluru!!
