Mangaluru: Burglar involved in house break-ins, murder arrested

Mangaluru Apr 17: The CCB police arrested an accused in connection to house break in theft (HBT) offence and murder on Sunday April 16.

The arrested accused is identified as Siddaraju alias Rowdy Sidda (52), a resident of Mysuru.

Addressing media on Monday April 17, police commissioner Kuldeep Jain said, “The accused has more than 30 cases filed against him at stations like Kavoor, Manipal, Karkala, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mysuru, Mandya and Chikkamagaluru. Police have seized 270 gram jewellery worth Rs 15,00,000, a two-wheeler and two mobile phones. During interrogation, it was found that Siddaraju was committing crime with the help of his aide Puneeth from Hassan.

“In the year 2005, the accused committed murder of Gangamma where he was identified as Rowdy Sidda back then. He managed to flee from police in the year 2006 and an LPC warrant was issued against him,” said the police commissioner.

The arrest was conducted under the guidance of the police commissioner, CCB ACP PA Hegde, inspector Shyam Sundar HM, PSI Sudeep MV, and ASI Shashidhar Shetty. A reward of Rs 10,000 was announced for the team of police personnel who were involved in the arrest.
