Mohiuddin Bawa deserved a ticket. He has done a lot of development work in his constituency. In contrast, Bharath Shetty has done nothing to write home about. Bawa had an outside chance of winning had he been given the ticket. As things stand, Bharath Shetty will have a cake walk now although he does not deserve to win. The people of this constituency will be the ultimate losers.

How is that? If people of the constituency know that bharat shetty is good for nothing who just warms bench, they might as well not vote him. If people are the losers, then they themselves are responsible for it.They should know whom to vote rather than voting purely on the name Hindutva.

Whats stopping the voters to vote for him? if he is creative and efficient, isn't that good irrespective of the party he belongs to? He went from one secular party to the most secularist party. so all seculars should be very happy to vote for a secular.

Let me explain what happened when he was MLA. Me and my friends from Bangalore were near Surathkal beach. This guy was there. I was about to introduce him as the MLA of the constituency. Rather he introduced himself as the owner of the Mangalore United cricket team. Shame. Shame. You still need more reason not to vote for you?

People should throw out such selfish and self centred people, who change parties if not given tickets, whether it is BJP, Congress or any other party. They think they are above party. People generally vote for the party and not to the person, except in Panchayat Elections. All such arrogant people who project themselves above the party and people should be shown the door. When party choses a candidate, whether it is right or wrong, everyone should follow party discipline and toe the line. JD(S) and Aam Aadmy will be dividing the secular votes and therefore, it is a easy win for BJP this time in all such places. It is the people who should think and vote, but we hardly find such people's behaviour in our country.

Only when SDPI fields its candidates people start alleging that votes will get divided. When these other big parties leaders hop from here and there won't the votes get divided??? I heard Bawa was more worthy and active than others and was the able leader compared to others. Yes, it looks to be easy road to Bharath Shetty, but one votes wisely based on the leaders caliber rather than parties then I believe Bawa will also have high chance of winning. Compared to all his opponents at his area Bawa looks able candidate.

If confident of winning Bawa should have contested as an independent candidate. What credentials does JD(S) have? If you have worked during your tenure why jump instead be confident of contesting independently.

These leaders who ever it may seem, think that they are having birthright to contest elections even if they are non performers.. It is also true that sometimes the high command of any parry gives ticket to those whom it favors. The greed of power makes these leaders to sell their parties ideologies when denied tickets. Some will change from secular to communal, and communal to secular in minutes.

Very sad development. He was Congress's face in Mangalore North and worked hard despite not being an MLA and was available for people in distress. Chances are that the Congress appoints candidate for Mangalore North, will lose his/her deposit as no one knows the guy who has been parachuted into Mangalore North and rumoured to be Congress's MLA candidate from this place.
