Udupi: Friction between two inebriated individuals ends in 40-year-old’s murder

Udupi, Apr 21: The friction that arose between two individuals under the influence of alcohol, ended up in the murder of one person at Pitrodi near Udyavar late night on Thursday April 20.

Kaup police arrest Bharath in this connection. The deceased is identified as Dayananda (40), a resident of Pitrodi.

Both accused and deceased consumed liquor in a bar near old Syndicate Bank of Pitrodi. As they came out of the bar, verbal argument ensued between them and it is alleged that Bharath punched the face and cheek of Dayananda with a knuckle punch and later hit him on the head. A seriously injured Dayananda died on the way to the hospital.

Bharath escaped from the spot after the incident and was apprehended by the police with the help of locals.

A case in this connection is registered in Kaup police station.
