Devotees offer Namaz, celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with devotion in Mangaluru, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 22: Muslims celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr festival in twin districts on April 22.

Special Eid Namaz prayers were offered at Eidgah Masjid light house hill road, Thaqwa Juma Masjid Pumpwell, Rahmaniya Juma Masjid Kankanady, Badriya Juma Masjid, Fouji Juma Masjid Police Lane, Masjid Al- Noor, Hampankatta, Bolar Jamiya Masjid, Bolar Islamic Center, Masjid Al-Jalal Kaprigudda, Eidgah ground Kudroli, Masjid Al Ehsan, Vas lane, Jamia Masjid Kudroli and all other mosques in Mangaluru.

Prayers were offered in various mosques of Udupi city, Kaup, Brahmavar, Kundapur, Byndoor, Hebri and Karkala taluks.

After giving Fitr Zakaat to eligible people in the morning, Muslims went to Mosques wearing new clothes and offered prayers. In some mosques, separate arrangements were made for women to offer prayers. Greetings were exchanged after the namaz.

Eid Namaz was led by Maulana Abdurashid Nadvi at Jamia Mosque of Udupi and Maulana Inayuthullah Razvi in Anjuman mosque.

Khateeb Hafil Mohammed Ashraf Sakafi, led special Eid prayers and reciting of Kutba at the Muloor Juma mosque.

In Kundapur, a procession was taken from Juma mosque in the morning and special Eid namaz was offered at Eidgah grounds of the city. The prayers were led by Maulana Karaar Hussain.

The prayers were led by Maulana Muzammil Nadvi at Gangolli Juma masjid, Khateeb Maulana Abdul Kareem Nadvi in Mohiddin Juma masjid and Maulana Abdul Matin Siddiqui at Shahi Jumma masjid. Hundred of Muslims participated in the special Eid Namaz.

In their Eid message, the Muslim clerics created awareness among the community on elections and asked everyone to cast their votes. They also asked Muslim to respect the law of the land and protect peaceful environment.

Heavy police presence was arranged all over the district to prevent any untoward incidents.

    Wishing all happy EID. However if prayers could be offered within the mosque it looks more dignified. Blocking roads not advisable. We Christians celebrate within parameters of our churches. Not on roads

    True. Also I realise how much the original traditional attire has changed to look like the the bedouin look of the arab world. The same goes for women. Wonder what makes that happen
