Beltangady: Illicit relationship of husband – Newly married woman ends life

Beltangady, Apr 24: A newly married woman, who was distraught over the illicit relationship of her husband with another woman, consumed poison on April 20 and died on Sunday April 23.

The deceased is identified as Kausalya (28), daughter of Devaki and a resident of Koppada Kodi of Indabettu village.

Kausalya got married to her neighbour after a love affair five months ago. However, she did not know that her husband had an illicit relationship with one of his relative woman. She came to know about the affair just two months ago. When Kausalya enquired about the same with her husband, her father-in-law scolded her. Kausalya had conveyed the issue to her parents.

Kausalya’s husband Sudhakar said that he will forsake her but not his relative woman with whom he was having illicit affair. Kausalya also read the WhatsApp message sent by the relative woman to her husband. Sudharkar had threatened Kausalya with life after the incident.

Kausalya consumed pesticide on April 20 and informed her parents. She was taken to a private hospital at Ujire and then shifted to Mangaluru for higher medical treatment. However, she did not respond to treatment and died on April 23.

A case in this connection is registered at Beltangady police station.

    What the hell teachers teach during moral science period? Is it only to scrifice and to be good or to face the world! Girls ........ Don't you have any other job than to blame others ? What Moral science teacher got to do here. Illicit relation between a married man and a un married woman. Everything was taking place with mutual concern to satisfy their burning sexual lust. Since Kaushalya killed herself she even made her husband to fulfil his wishes easy. One who perished gone for ever !

    Just file a FIR along with divorce suit for harrasment including for dowry and extramarital affairs; in no time, this womaniser and his corrupt parents would have fallen on the feet of Kaushalya plus offered her money, for out of court settlement, to close the case!!

    Kaushalya, may your departed soul rest in peace dear...Om shanthi. What you did is good. If you had fought, either acid would be on your face or harrassed or murdered. No one gives justice for a lady whose husband keeps illicit relationships. All fake and artificial now a days....Either a lady should keep quiet and work like a slave, if raised voice, she should be on the road prey of other men....Other day i read a story of famous celebrity Madam Rekha...How she is misused by the men is really shocking.....My respect to her...No insaniyat no sacha insaan...Let him enjoy his shameful life in future.

    Cynthia I agree to disagree with you!! In India, marital rules are totally skewed in favor of the women! In this context, if someone knowledgeable were to advise Kaushalya regarding filing a harassment case against the philandering husband and his supportive parents, this womanizer and his parents could have been straightened in no time; and would literally beg of her to withdraw the charges in view of the seriousness of the case! Unfortunately, many uneducated and ignorant people are not aware of this and how to tackle the situation! If someone knowledgeable, well aware person.was there in the victims circle to advice her to remain strong and fight for her rights she would have been a winner and the philandering husband taught a lesson!! She buckled with no help around and chose the easy way out! Anyway, may her soul rip!

    I too sincerely agree to disagree with you Rudy sir. Ours is patriarchal society in the first place. In simple words male biased society! A female is always called as weak but, she does more work than a man....house work/goes to office/bears the children ...Delivery of a child as is like another birth to her where her whole body changes including the bones to prepare for the baby of theirs...! Now, i agree court is in favour of women....But, favour of women when ? When a female is well to do/has enough money to spend/support from her parents and influence through other sources. Lets consider, a woman like kaushalya approach the concerned authorities on the advice by her parents, does she get justice Rudy sir if she has no money to spend (evenif the witnesses there also, they will keep quiet !!l) ? Since, its male biased society, if there's no money, strong support, little influence no legal depts will give her justice just because she files complaint on advices. She has to go through molestation/abuses/demand for their desire to fulfill just on one single sentence that her husband is not with her!! In kannada, usage of words are horrific from this men. This is not western country ...Washington or canada Rudy sir.. to get justice, just by filing a complaint on someone's advice. Suppose, she wins the case also, this ex husband will try his level best to torture her/spoil her name even try to kill her if she stsys around.....If husband has money, case will go to thrash ....Whatever, i agree with the step that Kaushalya has taken instead of living under depression and disturbances.... .Ok. now one more thing , first sentence of your comment goes like this, which reminded our one and ony Lan sir. One of his friends used to say this sentence and Lan sir made it as favorite. "Cynthia I agree to d........" This is Lan sir's favorite line.

    A good husband is one who earns more than his wife can spend, a good wife is one who can find such a husband...techies claim that they get huge salary, but today it is not the take home salary that is called salary, it is CTC ( Cost To Company) even the tissue paper ( that one uses or does not use) is part of CTC. If one is not earning well in these difficult times both partners have to work, but if the husband earns well,the wife should take care of the home. Taking care of the home is itself a full time job and more strenuous than that of the husband's office job.

    There are some fools who blame west for everything bad that's happening in India ( as if Indian culture is a beacon of great living). Now just show me a case similar to this from a western country where husband has a illicit affair and his wife commits suicide. This probably won't happen because in the west, the wife will file for divorce and husband will be in the streets.
