'What's the connection between Bajrang Bali & Bajrang Dal', asks Shivakumar

Bengaluru, May 3 (IANS): Karnataka unit Congress president D.K. Shivakumar on Wednesday, reacting to the row over his party manifesto on banning Bajrang Dal, questioned the "connection between Bajrang Bali and Bajrang Dal" while saying he is also a devotee of Lord Hanuman.

Speaking to reporters here at Congress headquarters, Shivakumar said: "I am a Hindu, and a devotee of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram. Are they (BJP leaders) only devotees of Lord Hanuman? The paradise of peace, Karnataka, should not be disturbed. There should be harmony."

"They are panicking over our proposal to ban Bajrang Dal. There will be no changes in the manifesto. What is the connection between Bajrang Bali and Bajrang Dal?" Shivakumar questioned.

On Wednesday, reacting to the Congress manifesto on banning Bajrang Dal, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that they cannot ban Bajrang Dal at any cost as that right is not with the state government.

Speaking to reporters, he said, the Bajrang Dal is an all-India organisation and how can the state government ban it? The Congress has spoken about banning the organisation only to create trouble in the society.

Meanwhile, Shivakumar said: "Anjaneya (Lord Hanuman) and Bajrang Dal are different. The BJP should do campaigning by taking the name of Bajrang Bali. Let them tell you about what they have done to end hunger and unemployment?"

Reacting to the Hanuman Chalisa recital programme scheduled to be organised on Thursday (May 4), Shivakumar said: "Are they the only people who recite Hanuman Chalisa? We will do it every day."

The Congress leader also said that the "RSS of the past, and the RSS of the present" are different.

"Why are you (referring to BJP) unnecessarily getting worked up? First, save the country. Why have you not given tickets to BJP leaders Ayanur Manjunath and K.S. Eshwarappa? We will ensure that our guarantees reach people. The BJP is provoking by raking up such issues. The people have understood this," Shivakumar said.

Hindu outfits and the Bajrang Dal have given a call for reciting the Hanuman Chalisa in all temples of the state on Thursday, May 4.

"This is not going to work. Let the BJP party leaders do anything they want. We will get 141 seats for sure. The results will be announced on May 13 and everyone will know about it then," Shivakumar said.

The Assembly election in Karnataka is scheduled to be held on May 10, and the votes will be counted on May 13.

    Rightly said ? BJP or any Political party is not the undertaker of a God. God Bajarangbali belongs to all Hindus. Not only Feku.............. Feku was saying Jai Bajarang Bali............. I also have full right to say that. Only difference is Feku is saying it only during election rally for fooling andh bhakths as well as Bajarang Bali. True bhakth is saying it daily from heart with devotion

    In a conflict or war, no side will sit idle and receive gifts. Why only BJP/RSS can resort to terrorism and unlawful action or crimes on others. Legally we have licenced and authorised police and security agnecies but Modi government feeds the Hindu rightwing activists and promotes their power just vor votes purpose. If they do it is the need of government if others set up a force that is ant-Country. Why we need to fight against PAK Chinese force ? likewise others need strong counter force to make BLD's to come to terms. Let there be rvolution but people cannot bend and give their backs for receiving blows. For every force, there is a counter force. For every negative there is a positive. For every action there is a reaction. For every cause there is an effect.

Rice / Grains : There are 98,96,000 BPL Card holders in Karnataka..BPL card owners really BPL?Are they reassessed ? So 10KG of Rice/Grain per month @30Rs per KG as what they give is of Medium to Very Poor Quality will still cost 98,96,000 /Month.Again not sure if all are availing this facility because of cheap products. 2. Gas : Whom and how you are going to give it?Please elaborate?Instead cant you say you will reduce the gas / petrol price..Don't you guys have basic intelligence??? 3. 2K amount to all women/month sums to 3,500,000 Women Approx x 2k =700cr/Month & 8400Cr/Year,Tax yaro katara free aagi use yaro madthare. 4.200 Units free electricity : 1,08,71,313 Houses as per 2011 So now it might be still more so roughly calculating to 1,50,00,000 x 1150 for 200 units = 17,250,000,000 again not sure if its monthly 200 units or yearly. 5.     Unnecessarily you people made blunder mistake you gained nothing unfortunately now. Congress will lose vote from majority community as well as minorities no one requested to ban bajaranga dal however now bjp got religious issue in this election it has been provided by congress specialy Muslims voting to congress just because of defeat bjp if they came to know your party will not get enough seat to form the government then they will shift their vote to SDPI

    The INC should definitely hold daily recital of the Hanuman Chalisa and yagnyas daily. Why should the BJP be the only hindus? INC is replete with hindus too.
