Beltangady, May 4: Social activist Shekar Laila filed a complaint with the Lokayukta against Beltangady sitting MLA Harish Poonja and three others over the construction of a guest house by producing false document.

Along with Harish Poonja, the complaint is filed against executive engineer Tauseef Ahmed, Shivprasad Ajila and Praveen Kumar.

The complainant has mentioned that the accused have misused their power for constructing a guest house by producing false documents. They have violated all the rules and constructed a low quality guest house with false documents in the name of contractor Praveen. The sitting MLA has claimed on his social media account that it has been inaugurated. The complainant has also alleged that they have called for tender claiming additional Rs 2 crore to the project. The tender was invited just for namesake and shown that the fourth accused has taken the tender and created false receipt to take additional Rs 2 crore grant from the government, stated the complainant.

The complainant also claimed that there was no such building as shown by Harish Poonja on his social media account. The accused are delaying to provide correct details about the project and are providing incomplete details.

The complainant has urged the Lokayukta to probe into the blatant misuse of power in the project worth Rs 7 crore.
