Mumbai, Jul 9: Activist Anna Hazare on Saturday July 9 said that he would continue his proposed August 16 agitation in support of a strong Lokpal regardless of the threats and intimidation .
Hazare said that he would not only take lathis but also is willing to take bullets, but will not step down from his vow.
He reminded the Congress government at the Centre that it was late Rajiv Gandhi who wrote about his government plans to bring in constitutional amendments in his letters to over five lac village heads.
"He sought views of the civil society in bringing the landmark legislation," he told reporters after inaugurating the office of 'India Against Corruption’ in South Mumbai here.
Hazare appealed the public to switch off their lights for an hour at 8 pm on August 16 and protest on streets demanding an end to corruption.
"When corrupt ministers and bureaucrats go to jail, corruption will stop as it will send a stern message to the society at large," he said.
