Udupi, May 5: “This election will decide the future of the poor. Do not sell your votes,” said Kaup Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake.  

“I do not want the poor and the middle classes to be defeated in this election,” he said. He was speaking during the election campaign at Kaup Katpadi Sarakari Gudde.

"The projects started by the Congress that were meant for the poor and the downtrodden have been withdrawn by BJP. It is unfortunate that ordinary people have been pushed into difficulty,” he said.

“Let there be no enmity and jealousy. We should unite and work together. People will come luring you with gifts and cash for votes. Do not sell your votes and elect those who sincerely solve your problems,” Sorake appealed.

Congress party’s Saraswathi Bangera, Srikara Anchan, Prabhaker Achar, Asha Anchan, Aboobacker I R and Vinay Ballal were present.

A person by the name of Ramzeen presented an piece of art as a gift which had a portrait of Sorake on the occasion.
