Puttur: Valuables, cash stolen from two churches in Shiradi

Puttur, May 6: Thieves who broke into the St Peters and St Pauls Jacobite Syrian churches situated at Shiradi village near Uppinangady took away cash kept in an offertory box, gold and silver worth Rs 1.8 lac.

The thieves broke open the latch of the church office and entered the church. They took away 12 gram of gold kept in the cupboard, 250 gram of silver and Rs 15,880 cash. They also broke the locker of the generator shed and stole 35 litres of diesel.

Uppinangady police are investigating further.
