Udupi: Biker fined umpteen times by traffic police over vehicle silencer

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, May 6: In a strange but true incident, a Royal Enfield bullet bike rider is repeatedly being fined by the traffic police saying that the silencer of the bike is fixed as an additional component in the vehicle and not the original one.

Seetharama Kunder, a resident of Perampalli, owns the bike of the model of year 2000. The silencer in the bike is that the company itself installed while delivering the bike to him. But it seems that the silencer is against the law.

Seetharama says that RTO also did not create any issue while passing the vehicle. However, traffic police are slapping fines on him whenever he rides across them. Even the showroom staff are saying that the silencer fixed on the bike is the original one. Seetharama is confused and says that he is being fined unnecessarily by the police.

Our so called police department doesn't have the proper info with them. Unnecessary harassing the public. Other way of making money. Nothing else.

This is a strange issue and must be solved before Seetharaman Kunder gets more fined for the silencer in his Royal Enfield bike. He has been riding his bike since 2000 and it was the same with the same silencer. Something wrong somewhere.
