Udupi: Shirva Police arrest gang of six members trying to commit dacoity

Udupi, May 7: A team of policemen led by Shirva station inspector Raghavendra C arrested six men, who were trying to commit dacoity, on Friday, May 5, in the night near the entrance of Kunjarugiri temple of Kurkalu village near Shirva.

The accused arrested are identified as Iqbal alias Iqbal Sheikh alias Iqbal Ahmed (32), Abdul Raquib (20), Mohammed Saqlain (23), Salem alias Saleem (19), Parvez (24) and Anas (19).

Police confiscated one dragon, a packet of chili powder, three wickets of wood, three two-wheelers and four mobile phone handsets.

A case in this regard has been registered with Shirva police station.
