Sonia fighting a lone battle for 20 yrs to establish Rahul: Assam CM Himanta

Bengaluru, May 7 (IANS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that Sonia Gandhi has been trying to establish her son, Rahul Gandhi for the last two decades, but her efforts are yet to yield any results.

Himanta said this during a press conference in Bengaluru, where he is campaigning for the BJP.

He said, "Even his mother is concerned about Rahul Gandhi how to establish him. Mrs Sonia Gandhi has been fighting a lone battle for the last 20 years to establish her son so that he can earn a decent livelihood."

Rahul Gandhi has been campaigning in Karnataka and promised to provide 10 lakh jobs to the unemployed youths in the state if Congress comes to power. He has also promised that the upcoming Congress government will spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the welfare of farmers.

Attacking the Congress top leader, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Today Rahul Gandhi is giving guarantee to the people of Karnataka. But, who will take his guarantee? One day he appears with a long beard, the next he is clean shaved. Sometimes he talks about potato making machines and the other day he mentions other things."

Sarma also criticised Rahul Gandhi for fighting the last Lok Sabha election from Kerala's Wayanad seat.

"After just one defeat, Rahul Gandhi left Amethi and Uttar Pradesh and migrated to Kerala. In the last five years, he never visited Amethi. People there are still confused why they had voted for the Gandhi family for such a long time," Sarma said.

The Assam Chief Minister also took a swipe at Congress party for their poll promise to ban the right wing outfit Bajrang Dal.

He said, "Hindus are never terrorists. The reason they (Congress) wanted to equate Popular Front of India (PFI) and Bajrang Dal was to tell western media that Hindus are also terrorists."

BJP circulated booklet listing all his scandals like, Sharada, Narada, Irrigation scam etc. Now he is in Karnataka to fool kannadigas ?. Kannadigas are not uneducated like you chatu Himanta. Get lost and go back. We dont have to listen to you. BJP is using you only when they do poaching MLA's for providing logistics and supplying........

    Mr Hemanta ... Manipur was burning, people were butchered, Kashmir was on the boil, a group of soldiers were martyred .... where were your party's senior leaders? Karnataka? Because you guys are losing this elections. If the HM and PM are not interested in the people of Kashmir, Manipur and the Army lives - what will they give to us in Karnataka? This is my personal view as hardly any news is shown on the National TV. all through Google or You Tube.

    what business this man has in Karnataka. He can not sort out the border issues with his own state, people and police are fighting with neighbours. Absolutely senseless to come to Karnataka and opine. People of Karnataka are highly qualified and need no lectures from Assam? Please go back and look after your people.

    If any parent is striving for their kids , what's wrong in it? Despite crores spent to project Rahul Gandhi as incompetent and ignorant BJP failed when he started Bharat Jodo Yatra. The real Rahul emerged as very intelligent and qualified leader with a vision beyond all the top fake degree holders, who can't face the media without any script and favouring journos.     Many rich, wealthy, powerful congress politicians jumped to BJP in recent years. Most of these cong politicians were called by BJP when they were in opposition as totally corrupt. But, after jumping to BJP all corruption charges are gone. What these idealogically bankrupt politicians speak is irrelevant, to people.
