Mangaluru, May 8: The valedictory ceremony of Congress Mangaluru South candidate JR Lobo's election campaign took place at the clock tower on Monday, May 8.

A spirited footmarch that began from the Clock Tower via K S Rao Road, PVS circle and concluded at Govind Pai circle, marked the occasion, attracting a large gathering of Congress supporters and J R Lobo's well-wishers. Throughout the footmarch, people enthusiastically chanted pro-Lobo slogans, accompanied by the lively tunes of the Nasik band.

J R Lobo said, "I thank each and every one who took part in the rally. I urge full support in the upcoming elections to ensure that Congress comes to power. Mangaluru has the potential for development and attracting investors as well. Our motive is development, and we should build it for future generations. I have sanctioned crores of projects for Mangaluru during my tenure, which unfortunately were not implemented properly."

Ivan D Souza said, "On May 13, the Congress party needs to come to power and gain a majority. Everyone needs to support JR Lobo. We have issued guarantee schemes to the people if Congress comes to power."

Sathish Prabhu said, "We have only two days left for the elections, and we should work together to ensure that J R Lobo emerges victorious in the upcoming elections."

J R Lobo was joined by prominent figures including KPCC vice president Padmaraj, the newly joined Sathish Prabhu, former MLC Ivan D'Souza, as well as Congress leaders Shalet Pinto, Naveen D'Souza, and Shashidhar Hegde.

Mr. Lobo, Very good administrator and person. Mine and my communities best wishes are with him, They say its tough luck for Mr. Lobo in Mangalore. BJP has entrenched very deep in the coastal region in the past several decades. Vedvyas Kamath is a good candidate as well. Does not need Modi factor to back him up. Thats one reason PM Chaiwala did not come to Nehru Maidan to campaign .Its now touted a strong bastion for them. Presence of JDS, AAP to be considered as well, Anyways lets wait till Saturday and see, who will win.
