BJP complains against Sonia Gandhi for making 'divisive' statement

Bengaluru, May 8 (IANS): The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka against Sonia Gandhi for making the statement, "the Congress will not allow anyone to pose a threat to Karnataka's reputation, sovereignty or integrity."

"There is also a segment of people in India that loves to see India divided. They have been famously called Tukde Tukde. This statement has boosted the enthusiasm of Tukde Tukde gangs in this country which will ultimately be beneficial to the outside enemy forces if a political leader shows divisive tendencies. Sonia Gandhi has made the statement with malafide intention," the complaint stated.

Sonia Gandhi had made the statement in a Hubballi-Dharwad public rally on May 7. The same matter had also been published on Twitter. The statement of Sonia Gandhi is indeed shocking and unacceptable. This is an insult to freedom fighters from Karnataka, who fought for Indian independence. It is an insult to crores of patriotic Kannadigas, who swear by India and cherish their Indianness, the complaint stated.

"A sovereign by definition is an independent nation. When a country becomes independent, that country is called a sovereign country. India is a sovereign country and the state of Karnataka is a proud part of it. Till today, no one raised any question about the integrity of Kannadigas with the sovereignty of the nation," the complaint stated.

The meaning of what the Congress is saying is that the Congress believes that Karnataka is separate from India. This statement is divisive in nature. It is aimed at dividing the citizens and creating a rift between two people of different states. Karnataka is not different from India. This is a shocking statement leading to igniting divisive sentiments and to create disharmony in the society. Karnataka is the proud hub of investors of the country, the complaint said.

The BJP urged stringent action and FIR against Sonia Gandhi for making such a statement.

THE HOME MINISTER MR AMIT SHAH started the controversy by saying in a open speech that as Quoted --"Karnataka will see riots if Congress wins, says Amit Shah"-- So the present Central Govt -- fails to understand -- INDIA is a UNION of states -- federal structure -- They want to convert all to -- ONE NATION -- ONE LANGUAGE given a chance -- all --one one one ----even GST there are cesses which are not shared --As per Statements made in parliament -- Centre collects about 4=00 lakh crore-- FOUR LAKH CRORE--cess -- which is not shared with states -- This is about 30 % of total tax collected -- So STATE has to bow to centre's diktat slowly in future -- Also PM CARES fund collects without any disclosures -- nearly 12 lakh crores -- (But federalism is deeply embedded in the citizens by default -- So for BJP wishful thinking-- )-- Consider all southern states especially and whether BJP in power except desperation here in karnataka --

If any of the BJP leader's wives have the guts, let them live the life of Mrs. Gandhi. A foreigner from Italy, she could have taken her children and lived the high life in Europe. Still, she clung to her husband's legacy, his love for this ungrateful India. I'm from Bandra, and I was only in the 7th standard when Mr. Gandhi was assassinated. I still remember the wails from every house in my neighborhood, as DD aired the news. There was an immediate vigil in church, we were bereaved and how! Even today, Bandra West, Supari Talao's heart beats for Rajivji and Indiraji.

BJP members can't speak proper English, so how do you expect them to comprehend full sentences. The only words they know from their leader is Streanh, Clouds and Gutter gas.

Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is a very decent , smart and honest leader. She has not said anything wrong. Her sacrifice and contribution to India is tremendous. She is the one who brought in PM Manmohan Singh. BJP is rattled with her single visit in spite of PM Modi’ 20 visits.
