No zero result in SSLC exams in Karnataka govt schools this year

Bengaluru, May 9: None of the government schools have recorded zero result this year. However, the number of private and aided schools that have recorded zero result have increased considerably. In addition, there is considerable increase in the number of government schools that have recorded 100% result.

Last year, two government schools recorded zero result. Three aided schools also recorded zero result. This year the number has gone up to 11. Among private schools, last year 15 recorded zero result. This year it has gone up to 23. Assessment board said that it will verify the schools that have recorded zero result and recommend school education department to take suitable action.

Government schools have fared well in 100% results also. Last year, 1824 schools recorded 100% result, this year it has gone up to 1517.

In unaided schools last year, 1991 schools recorded 100% pass result. This year, the number has come down to 1824. Among the aided schools, 467 recorded 100% result last year. This year, the number is increased to 482.

In spite of physical and mental disabilities, the performance of differently abled children is good. Out of the 4649 students who wrote the examination, 3723 passed. This is 80.08% result, which is really excellent.

In English medium, 3.14 lac students wrote the examination. Out of this, 2.88 lac cleared and the result is 91.66%. Last year, the result of English medium students was 92.88%. Compared to Kannada medium students, English medium students have fared well this year.

This year, 4.43 lac students wrote examinations in Kannada medium and 3.79 lac students passed with a pass percentage of 85.59. Last year, the result was 87.65.
