Udupi: Parichaya Pamboor to organize ‘Bahumuki’ cultural festival from May 17-20

Udupi. May 16: Parichaya Prathistana Pamboor, an organization aimed to promote Konkani, is all set to organize ‘Bahumukhi’, a cultural festival from May 17-20 at Rangaparichaya, Pamboor.

On May 17, Melvyn Rodrigues, poet and convener of Konkani advisory committee, Sahitya Academy, Delhi will be the guest for the day’s programme. Renowned sitar artist Ustad Rafique Khan and team will be performing on the occasion.

On May 18, students of Mangaluru St Aloysius Ranga Adhyana Kendra will perform theatre songs and Hang on play.

On May 19 and 20, ‘Mansore cine festival’ will be held. On May 19, “19-20-21” a Kannada movie by Mansore and on May 20, Harivu, a national award winning movie will be screened. All programmes will start at 6.30 pm.

Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves - vicar general Udupi diocese, Fr Henry Mascarenhas - parish priest Pamboor church, Fr Denis D’Sa - parish priest Thottam, Walter Nandalike - founder Daijiworld media, Fr Dr Alwyn Serrao - renowned dramatist, poet Titus Noronha, renowned lawyer Dinesh Hegde Ullepaadi, DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla, journalist Naveen Soorinje, Vithal Malekudiya and Mahadev Hadapada, film actor, Mansore, Kannada movie director and others will participate in the programmes.
