Bantwal, May 16: A woman walking along the road was tragically hit by a car in Vagga on Tuesday, May 16, resulting in severe injuries.

Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while being transported to the hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Sesamma, a resident of Kadabettu. Sesamma, who was financially struggling, was on her way from her home to Vagga market to make a payment towards the Swasahaya Sangha installment. It was during this time that a car driven by a female doctor struck her from behind. Sesamma sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but sadly, she passed away on the way, according to doctors.

It is worth noting that Sesamma's husband had also recently been involved in an accident, where he was hit by an auto-rickshaw while walking along the roadside in Vagga. He suffered a serious leg injury and was unable to walk. Eventually, he succumbed to his injuries.

Traffic Sub-Inspector Murthi visited the scene and registered a case.
