Mangaluru, May 25: "MLA Harish Poonja accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of murdering 24 Hindu workers during the BJP's election victory celebrations in Beltangady. We intend to file a defamation case against him," MLC Harish Kumar said.

Addressing the media on Thursday, May 25, he further added, "The BJP government has been in power for the past few years, so why didn't they inquire about the murdered Hindu workers during that time? Were they too preoccupied with tallying the corrupt? Harish Poonja may be an MLA, but appropriate action will be taken against him."

"Our Congress leaders were caught with Rs 64,000 in their vehicle at 3 am, and the FIR has been registered against them for accepting bribes from the voters. What progress have they made during their tenure? State development cannot be solely measured by road construction. They have also influenced police officers with corruption," he stated.

"The promises made in the Congress party's manifesto will soon be fulfilled. BJP leaders may be concerned about our commitments, but they have consistently failed to fulfill their own promises," he added.

He urged, "All illegal activities in the state must be stopped, and the masterminds behind them should be promptly apprehended by the police. We have requested the Chief Minister to rectify the omissions in the canceled textbooks."

"MP Nalin Kumar claims that we, Congress leaders, are against Hinduism, but the recent events in Puttur reveal who truly opposes Hinduism. He should understand that the BJP is distinct from Hinduism," he questioned.

"MLA U T Khader has been chosen as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and we extend our congratulations to him for his hard work. I would also like to congratulate all the Congress Party leaders for their dedicated efforts during the last two years leading up to the legislative election. In our district, we have two constituencies, and we are grateful to the voters for their valuable support. The voters have elected the right candidate in this election, and in the upcoming election, the people in our district will come to understand the true nature of the BJP leaders," he concluded.
