The entire NH 66 from Kulai to KPT is a trap for death due to the potholes and traffic congestion. Two wheeler riders are a menace due to irresponsible riding/four wheelers driving habits of the people. Government and NHAI loots the public with road taxes and tolls but hardly maintain the quality of roads. The Surathkal NITK Toll Gate is the best example as to NHAI acts with total irresponsibility. Our MPs and MLAs are busy blaming Congress and dividing society based on castes and religion. Anyhow, the most educated districts of Karnataka deserve only these kinds to enjoy. Since, we don't value human life nothing is going to change.....?????!!!!

Can understand whose gulaam you are. Just like how India got railway, satellite, airports after May 16 2019 only, the potholes on our roads appeared from 13th May 2023 only. Agree. Before that all our taxes were spent on public wellbeing therefore our roads were mirror-smooth. Since our taxes are at present spent on free bus, this condition. I understand your gulamgiri100%

RIP to Mr Ferrao. It is really unfortunate. Pot holes are primarily caused because of very low quality roads. No proper curing and allowing heavy vehicles to pass. Call Modi? Are you ok? Look at Manipur, the genocide is on-going. Has uttered a single word? Is Manipur a part of India? It feels like 1945 Germany!

Here, because the biker got killed, blame is primarily on potholes and then on the bus that hit him. What about on other occasions that they swerve like snakes ? Even if a bigger vehicle has stopped at a junction leaving sufficient spece for pedestrians to cross, these two wheelers cover every foot-space on the zebra crossing so that they can race ahead when the signal turns green. Well, first follow traffic rules. In the milee if death crosses your path, don't blame other vehicles. You have only one life, not as many as there are vehicles on the road.

Your comment is very generic and you are right; but, not applicable here; also nowadays multiple unmarked potholes and stray cows have sniffed out many innocent lives, which is a very serious matter!

Irrelevant ? Yes, I agree. Probably here it should have been only RIP. But we still have a problem. Potholes and how a motorist should approach and cross them. Duty of officials or road users protest comes thereafter. What is not wrong is, bigger vehicles slowdown, cross cautiously and proceed. Whereas the two-wheelers at-once change path without giving a glance right or left. Because either way they will be in danger (1) fall in the dich and come under the wheels of another vehicle or (2) change path and cause an accident thus blame the bigger vehicle that they came under. Whichever way, he should think that he has only one life that he is putting in danger. His family members will grieve for him but the officials will take their own time to do any good to motorists.

The deceased' party should file for a big claim, with appropriate documents, on the NHAI and the road contractor for negligence and shoddy/inferior quality work, which I am sure they will get!

If Accountability is set in India as it is set in any good multinational company (for safety), then at least 2 to 3 officers / elected members will go behind the bars at least for 3 years. They are good only in giving compensation on dead bodies. Moreover, they give compensation proudly as if they give from their pocket.
