Mangaluru: Deva Matha Youth Movement Mogarnad unit organizes 'Vanamahotsav 2023'

Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 1: The Deva Matha Youth Movement (ICYM), Mogarnad unit organized 'Vanamahotsav 2023' by planting trees in two church wards over the course of two sessions on July 30.

An annual one-week tree-planting event, vanmahothsav or vanamahothsava, which means 'forest festival', takes place in India from July 20 to 27.

During the morning session, the members planted a sapling at Alphonse Pasanna and Lilly Pasannas' home in St Thomas Ward.

During the evening session, a seedling was planted at Mouris Martis' home in the Vailankani Ward. The members also took part in the Vailankani Ward's prayer meeting.

The purpose of Vanamahotsava is to raise public awareness of the value of forests, woodlands, and trees in daily life.

The folks in attendance were told about the significance of vanamahotsava and its value.

An enjoyable holiday honouring trees and the natural world, vanamahotsav. In India, efforts to promote a greener environment are honoured. People take part by replanting trees and caring for already-existing ones. Everyone is urged by the festival to take care of the environment.

In this approach, DMYM promoted awareness of environmental issues and a love of nature among churchgoers.
