Bantwal, Aug 23: As part of its ongoing FutureFit series of initiatives, the Good for Good Trust has taken another decisive step in enabling government schools with future-proof learning opportunities. By sponsoring free, year-long STEM and Robotics classes at DKZP Government Higher Primary School, Kallige, the trust is making advanced, practical education both accessible and affordable for rural children.
The inauguration was presided over by Damodar Nettarakere, president of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC). The ceremony began with the symbolic lighting of the lamp by a girl student, reflecting the spirit of empowerment and hope that the program seeks to instill.
Teacher Mohini welcomed the gathering and introduced the trustees of Good for Good to the audience of students, parents, and SDMC members. From the trust’s side,








Sharmila Amin highlighted the importance of STEM education, stressing how early exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics equips children with essential problem-solving skills.
Akshay Suvarna, president of the Good for Good Trust, thanked the school management for recognizing the value of year-long programs and accommodating them into the regular timetable. He reaffirmed the trust’s vision of going beyond short-term activities to create sustained, transformative change in rural education.
Also present were trustees Satyaraj (vice president), Eshan Anchan (secretary), Sachith (joint secretary), Elden D’Souza (PR head), and Guru Moorthy (logistics), who reiterated their collective commitment to expanding such initiatives across Dakshina Kannada.
The program drew enthusiastic participation from parents, SDMC members, and community stakeholders, with many describing the event as both meaningful and inspiring. The atmosphere reflected pride, excitement, and optimism for the year ahead.
Closing the event, principal Sylvia Brag’s expressed heartfelt gratitude to Good for Good Trust for choosing the school for this initiative.
