Kundapur, Aug 17: Citizens of undivided district of Dakshina Kannada are united as justice is not served in the case of Saujanya, who was heinously murdered after sexual harassment by perverts 11 years ago. Voices are heard that the hands that are acting from behind in the murder of Soujanya should be brought to light and the accused should be hanged till death. Innocent Santhosh Rao, should be given equal respect in society say the voices of people cutting across party and caste lines.
“In the wake of this situation, a huge foot march will be held by like-minded people on August 25 at 10 am at Kundapur. The march will begin from Nehru Maidan move via the main road and reach till new bus stand and back. A huge protest meeting will be held at Shastri Circle,” said Sudhir Malyadi.
Sudhir further said, “Our protest is not against any individual or community. We do not have any intention of damaging the religious beliefs of anyone. However, justice should be served to Soujanya, who was barbarically murdered. In addition, Santhosh Rao, who was tortured for 11 years should be honoured by the government. Like-minded people will urge the same in the meeting.
“Family members of late Soujanya and Mahesh Shetty, who is in the forefront of the fight for justice for Soujanya will take part in the procession. Mahesh Shetty will urge the government to serve justice to Soujanya,” he said.
This is a protest that is taking place voluntarily. Everyone will participate in the protest on his or her own will. More than 5000 people are expected to participate.
