Mumbai, Aug 9: Actress Shilpa Shetty's Indo-Chinese production 'The Desire: A Journey Of a Woman' which was about to face a downfall due to lack of funds, was saved at the last minute by the actress's mother Sunanda Shetty.

Sunanda has agreed to produce the movie. The project is now progressing smoothly.

The movie which was earlier about 145 minutes long has been edited down to just 95 minutes. Sunanda has also decided to edit the lesbian angle between Shilpa and Sheetal Menon to make it possible for the movie to enter international film festivals.

Sunanda declared herself to be the sole producer of the project.

She added that she decided to step in as producer of the movie as she saw potential in it even after it was stuck for over a year.

Sunanda, who is a movie buff said, " More than being the concerned mother, it was the film buff in me that realised the potential of this film."

The script of the movie revolves around an Indian girl's life in search of spiritualism.
