Karkala: Drone footage reveals facts about ongoing construction at Parashuram Theme Park

Karkala, Oct 15: Amidst all the speculations and rumors about the Parashuram statue in Karkala being made of fiber, drone footage on Saturday, October 14, revealed that the Parashuram statue is indeed being reinstalled.

Viral drone footage released by Congress supporters displayed that, except for the foot and knee of the statue, all other parts of the statue had been removed in the name of project completion. The district administration and the local MLA had previously informed the media that the construction of the theme park was in its final stages and that public access was restricted due to ongoing construction work.

However, Congress leaders in Karkala and other protestors had claimed that the initially installed Parashuram statue was not made of bronze and that a false statue made of fiber material had been put in its place. Udupi's incharge minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar, had also visited the controversial site to inspect it.

Two days ago, the statue was suddenly covered with tarpaulin, leading protestors to believe that it was being reinstalled with a bronze statue. Drone photographs and videographs, which went viral on social media on Saturday, October 14, confirmed this and also revealed the ongoing replacement process occurring beneath the covered tarps.

Following this incident, Udupi Congress called for a protest on Monday, October 16, at the Parashuram Theme Park in Bailur. A large number of supporters are expected to participate in the protest.
