Agnesian Alumni AGM held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 23: The AGM of the Agnesian Alumni Association, Bangalore chapter, was held on October 23 at the Sky Lounge, Catholic club. Attended in large numbers in the college colours of blue and white, the Sky Lounge was filled with excitement and nostalgia of friends meeting and greeting after a long interval of 4 years.

Graced by Sr Venissa AC, principal St Agnes College, who had traveled from Mangaluru for the occasion, the AGM began with a prayer , followed by an enthusiastic rendition of the college anthem. The president Hilma Roach, welcomed the gathering. This was followed by Sheela John reading the secretary's report and Yvonne Rasquinha tabling the treasurer's report.

Sr Venissa expressed her happiness that the alumni is keeping the spirit of St Agnes alive and spoke of the changes and progress at the college.

Hilma Roach then addressed the gathering, thanking the committee , sponsors and members for their cooperation during her tenure of 13 years, as president.

Speaking highly of Hilma's praiseworthy leadership and thanking her, for her contributions of her time, effort and resources, the committee presented her with a momento, on behalf of the Association

Elections were conducted by Fiona D'Souza and a new committee was formed, with Coreen D’Souza Fareed as president, Lunita Pais D'Sa as vice president, Naomi Sequeira as secretary, Annette Menezes as joint secretary and Prajwal Mathias as treasurer. The committee members are Brinda Somaiah, Dr Shobha Rasquinha, Dr Sunita Lobo, Priya Gonsalves, Dr Shilpa Shetty, Priyanna D’Cunha, Dr Vijai Jeevan, Lorette Rasquinha and Tarana Bidappa. The new committee was brimming with enthusiasm and promise.

Shobha Pinto ended the formal part of the AGM with a vote of thanks.

Tina Joseph as the compere enlivened the programme with her wit and a song. The Agnesian singers entertained the gathering with peppy numbers.

Lorna Britto, 93, the oldest member present was felicitated.

Fun, singing, dancing and games saw enthusiastic participation from young and the old,.

A cocktail and mocktail bar along with a sumptuous lunch completed the event.
