Special technology at Mangaluru Junction railway station to fill water in train bogies quickly

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Nov 14: High pressure water filling system is introduced in Junction railway station on the outskirts of the city. This will reduced the time taken to fill the bogies of the train. Earlier, trains used to stop for 15-20 minutes just to fill water though the official stoppage time was just 8 to 10 minutes.

The railway department, which took into consideration the wastage of time to fill the water, installed quick watering system developed by Centre for Advanced Maintenance Technology (CAMTECH) from Gwalior.

The present pipeline is six inch in diameter instead of the usual four inches, motors are more powerful and has supervisory control and data system which a computerized system that allows filling of all the bogies of a train within 10 minutes.

As always noticed , the filling pipes lie in the gutter next to the track and the same pipe is used to fill all the trains. This will lead to spreading of infections through the water. Please shorten the pipe length and avoid this issue.

Karwar-Bangalore day train stops in Mangaluru Junction for 20 minutes. Now time is reduced to 10 minutes. It should reach Bangalore 10 minutes earlier or it should depart Karwar 10 minutes later. Pass on the benefits to passengers. Otherwise no use of this technology.
