Kasargod, Nov 19: "Politics in development will be a set back for Kerala. The stance taken by opposition parties on the government's schemes is not right," said Pinarayi Vijayan, CM of Kerala.

Vijayan made these remarks during the inauguration of the Navakerala Sadas at the Paivalike City Higher Secondary School grounds on Saturday evening.

Pinarayi opposed the policies of the Union BJP government and Congress, stating that they are following anti-people policies. He mentioned that the highway construction is progressing rapidly and will be completed in the next two years.

Vijayan criticized the move by the UDF, which boycotted the Navakerala Sadas, stating that their actions go against democracy. He highlighted the achievements of the government, such as the construction of four lakh houses under the LIFE scheme, distribution of land records to three lakh people, and free medical facilities provided to 27.5 lakh people.

"Financial constraints are hindering the government from providing more facilities to eligible people. Nevertheless, the government is doing its best and attempting to improve the financial position. The Union government is neglecting Kerala, and delayed pensions will be distributed soon. Kerala has transformed since 2016 and has progressed rapidly in the past 7.5 years," said Vijayan.

The program will conclude on December 23 in Tiruvananthapuram. Revenue and Housing Minister K Rajan presided over the inauguration, with several ministers and dignitaries present, including Ports Minister Ahmed Devar Kovil, Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustin, Electricity Minister K Krishanan Kutty, Forest Minister A K Shashindran, Transport Minister Antony Raju, Devswam Minister K Radhakrishnan, Finance Minister K N Balagopal, Industries Minister P Rajeev, Animal Husbandry Minister Chinju Rani, Registration and Cooperative Minister V N Vasavan, Youth Welfare and Fisheries Minister Saji Cheriyan, PWD Minister Mohammed Riyaz, Sports Minister V Abdul Rehman, Food Minister G R Anil, Social Welfare and Higher Education Minister R Bindu, Local Administration Minister M B Rajesh, Agriculture Minister P Prasad, Education Minister Shivan Kutty, Health and Family Welfare Minister Veena George, and Zilla Panchayat President Baby Balakrishnan.

Chief Secretary of the State Government Dr. Venu extended a welcome, and DC K Impashekhar delivered the vote of thanks.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan and ministers arrived at Navakerala Sadas in a special luxury bus. From Kasargod Guest House to the grounds, the CM and 20 ministers traveled in the bus. They will continue their journey through all 140 constituencies of Kerala in the same bus.

Seven counters were opened on the spot to receive grievances, with hundreds of people submitting their petitions. Arrangements were made to receive petitions from the morning, and personnel and officers were designated to handle the submissions.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan felicitated achievers from various fields, and cultural programs were held before the inauguration ceremony.

From Talapady to Kasargod you will find more Tulu and Kannada speaking people than mangalore. Before all government schools in Kasragod district are Kannada medium schools and now most of the kannada govt schools are closing due to private english medium schools.

It's interesting to see Kannada display boards at a Kerala Chief Minister's event in Kasargod. Consider if a similar scenario unfolded in Karnataka, where even the presence of a Tulu board in a government event around Udupi or Mangalore would likely spark significant controversy and outcry.
