Maputo, Sep 10: The Holy Cross Catholic Church Community in Maputo, Mozambique celebrated the Monti Fest on the 8th with a mass at 6.30 am and few Mangalorean and Goan families gathered at 7.30pm for a traditional Novem Jevaan and celebraed Mother Mary's birthday.
Indeed it was a great day for all the catholics in Maputo and we remembered all our family members back home in Mangalore.
The Novem Jevaan started with prayers and hymns remembering the departed souls in our families. The Novem was drank in the order of elderly to the youngest before eating 7 types of vegetables on a planten leaf. The food was so tasty everyone present enjoyed the delicacy follwed by traditional sweet "vorn".
