Mangaluru, Dec 27: “A person can be known by his deeds and his prestige will be preserved by it. Ego and greed cause harm,” opined Padma Shri Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, social activist hailing from Rajnandagaon, Chhattisgarh.
Speaking after receiving Moolathva Vishwa Award 2023during the programme held by Moolathva Foundation Charitable foundation at Sharada college premises on Sunday, he said that everybody is concerned for themselves. “But being concerned about others is equally important,” she said.
“We should have faith in ourselves. There is no use in living without humanity. We should try to live for society. Let there be love towards our father, mother and land that bears us and the nation that gives us livelihood. It is easy to receive felicitation but preserving it is challenging. I have to face that challenge,” she said.
Diving expert and social worker Ishwar Malpe, reciprocating the felicitation to him, said that one should be careful while playing with water. “Do not lose your senses during selfie and reels at places of excessive water and whirlwind,” he said.
“There are people who die by suicide jumping into the water. Do not end your lives. You should think again and again when thoughts of suicide come to your mind. There are many who go through hardships in society. Do not lose heart when you come across problems,” he added.
Moolathva Foundation founder Prakash gave a keynote address.
