Bengaluru, Dec 30: A mega drinking water project involving a total outlay of Rs 297.80 crore has been prepared for meeting the drinking water needs of 1007 villages in Raichuru district, rural development minister Priyank Kharge said on Saturday.
The minister said NABARD is funding the basic infrastructure project under the Jal Jeevan Mission to meet the drinking water needs in seven urban bodies in Manvi, Kavital, Turvihal, Balagawar, Sirawar and Hutti from the Narayanpur reservoir.
As many as 1406 habitations, including 1007 villages of Raichur district will be benefitted to cover 342534 houses with a vision of meeting the needs for the next 30 years.
With the completion of the project, the minister said most of the villages and towns of Raichur district will not have drinking water problems, Priyank Kharge said.
