Bantwal: Bike, truck collision – Pillion rider killed, one seriously injured

Bantwal, Dec 31: A tragic accident unfolded on the late night of December 29 at B C Road on NH 75, involving a bike and a truck, resulting in the death of the pillion rider and severe injuries to the rider.

The deceased has been identified as Mohiuddin Rameez (20), a resident of Bengre, while Ahmed Sajad sustained critical injuries. The impact of the collision ejected both the rider and pillion onto the road, with Rameez getting trapped under the truck's wheels.

Rameez succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital, while Ahmed Sajad is undergoing treatment in a Mangaluru hospital.

Reportedly, both the deceased and the rider were en route to Ajilamogaru masjid to attend the Uroos programme, while the truck was traveling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru. The accident is attributed to the alleged negligence of the truck driver.

The Bantwal traffic police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

    Our Traffic LAWs are very very Weak, There must be severe punishment and heavy fine must be implemented like Gulf Countries. Most of the cases are due to Violation of Traffic LAW, And drink and Drive . Installation of Cameras to fine Violation of Traffic LAW must be be regularised to controll Accident, cancellation of DRIVING G LICENCE must be followed. More traffic check points ,
