Fujairah, Sep 13: Monthi Fest was celebrated with great joy and devotion at Mother of Perpetual Church Fujairah, on September 9.

The celebrations began with Holy Mass by visiting priest Fr Franklin D'Souza at 11 am. In his touching homily he emphasized the importance of love and affection in the family. Novem was blessed during the Holy Mass. Little children joined in showering flowers after the Mass.

Later all the members and guests gathered at Madhab Park, a popular spot among residents of Fujairah for the traditional feast meal. Anthony D’Silva, president of Canara Catholic Fujairah welcomed Fr Franklin and guests from other Emirates and the whole gathering.

Fr Franklin gave a brief description of his mission and expressed his happiness in working with youths. Novem was served. Melvin Vas compered the programme. Members of Canara Catholic Fujairah cooked the food for the event which was served on banana leaves.
