Mangaluru, Feb 6: The Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a one-day workshop on “outcome-based education” on Tuesday, February 6.
The programme began with a short inaugural where Sr Dr M Venissa A.C, the principal emphasised on the importance of revising the syllabus so that the students acquire skills which enhance the learning experience and lead to increased employability avenues and research opportunities.
The convenor of the workshop introduced Dr Demian Antony D’Mello, vice principal and professor, Canara Engineering College, Mangaluru, who was the resource person for this workshop.
The workshop was divided into four sessions in which Dr Demian D’Mello explained the importance of outcome-based education highlighting on the process of framing programme and course outcomes, the different course assessment tools and the attainment of course and programme outcomes.
He also gave exercises that helped the participants to understand these aspects thoroughly. Faculty members from all the PG departments and a few UG departments participated in this workshop which was an enriching experience.
