From veterinary sciences to civil services: The inspiring journey of Dr Aakansha Anand

Bihar, Feb 16: Dr Aakansha Anand's journey to becoming an IAS officer is truly inspirational. Despite facing challenges and juggling her responsibilities as a veterinary doctor, she managed to clear the UPSC examination in her second attempt through sheer determination and hard work.

Coming from a modest background, with her mother's aspiration for her to become an IAS officer, Dr Aakansha initially pursued veterinary sciences and even secured a gold medal from Patna College of Veterinary Sciences. However, driven by her mother's dream and her own inner calling, she decided to prepare for the UPSC examination soon after completing her veterinary degree.

Despite not being able to afford coaching classes due to her job as a vet, Dr Aakansha utilized online resources, particularly YouTube, dedicating eight to ten hours a day to her studies. Her perseverance and the unwavering support of her family played a crucial role in her success.

Despite facing failure in her first attempt in 2021, Dr Aakansha did not lose hope. Instead, she doubled down on her efforts and approached the examination with even more dedication in 2022, eventually securing All India Rank 205.

Dr Aakansha Anand's story underscores the power of determination, hard work, and familial support in achieving one's goals, even against formidable odds. Her achievement serves as a testament to the fact that with the right mindset and relentless effort, one can overcome any obstacle and realize their dreams.
