Udupi: 14,331 students to write SSLC examinations in district

Udupi, Mar 17: "The SSLC examinations will be held from March 25 to April 6 across 51 examination centres in the district. It is imperative that the exams proceed smoothly, without any confusion or chaos. Discipline and coordination must be maintained at the highest level," stated ADC Mamata G S.

Mamata made these remarks during a meeting convened to discuss the SSLC examinations at the Zilla Panchayat campus in Manipal on Saturday.

She further elaborated, "Out of the total number of students appearing for the examinations, 13,454 students are new, 233 are private candidates, 578 are private repeaters, and 65 are regular repeaters. Among them, 7,471 are boys and 7,860 are girls.

"There are 51 examination centres, with 15 in Udupi, 11 in Brahmavar, nine in Karkala, and eight each in Byndoor and Kundapur. It is mandatory to install CCTV cameras in all examination centres. Currently, 652 invigilators, 51 local awareness squad officers, and 51 mobile squad officers have been appointed. Students are prohibited from bringing smartwatches and mobile phones into the examination centres. Wall clocks must be installed in every examination room.

"Basic facilities such as drinking water and washrooms must be provided to students, in addition to bus services for rural students to access city areas.

"Around the examination centres, a 100-meter area will be under prohibitory orders, and Xerox shops in proximity to the examination centres will remain closed."

SP Dr Siddalingappa, SSLC nodal officer and Mangaluru CET principal Cyprian Monteiro, district treasury officer Rangaswamy, and DDPI Ganapathi were also in attendance.
