Prices of beans, other vegetables see sharp increase in DK, Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru/Udupi (MS)

Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 26: The price of beans has surged dramatically, attributed to the soaring temperatures and a rise in auspicious occasions in Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts. Additionally, other vegetables have become more expensive due to water scarcity.

Previously, beans were priced between Rs 50 to 60 per kg in the local market, but they have now skyrocketed to Rs 100 per kg.

The coastal region primarily sources beans from markets in Bengaluru and Chikkamagaluru. However, the yield has decreased due to water shortages in Bengaluru. With the water situation also dire in coastal areas, residents are forced to rely on vegetables from districts further away.

In contrast, the price of garlic, which experienced a sharp increase, has now plummeted to Rs 200 per kg. Similarly, the cost of lemons has risen in recent days, with a medium-sized lemon fetching between Rs seven to eight, compared to Rs six to seven in the wholesale market.

Meanwhile, ginger is now priced between Rs 160 to 200 per kg, and onions are being sold at Rs 30 per kilo. The rates of other vegetables include tomatoes at Rs 25, ridge gourd at Rs 60 to 70, okra at Rs 40, yam at Rs 80, and green brinjal at Rs 80.

This is good news for Bhakths..... If you are hungry then clap for Feku...and say HAR HAR MODI .......He will steal your tax money through EXTORTION BONDS by conducting raids through his ED ( EXTORTION DEPARTMENT ) and allocating projects to corporates keeping good margin of commission...... & Bhakths will keep on clapping till they die with hunger and their future generation will suffer......!!!!

Very evident that more focus needs to be put on agriculture, in order to control the prices by increasing the growth of daily needed elements. With these kind of prices, i am sure daily life for salaried people shall be a intense thing to think about, which shall put extra costs on pockets, and savings shall be very hard.
