About Stanislaus Mendonca

Born and raised in the town of Angelore, Mangaluru, he started on his musical journey from a young age. His educational path leads through the halls of Guardian Angel Angelore for primary studies, Cascia High School, and St Aloysius College in Mangaluru. With a passion for singing ignited in childhood, he found his voice in the church choir and local singing competitions. During his college years, he ventured into the world of bands, drawing inspiration from the melodies of late Konkani legend Wilfy Rebimbus and other senior composers.

At the age of 21, he began writing his own songs, eventually presenting his debut performance, 1st Stan Nite, in 1998 at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru, under the guidance of Wilfy Rebimbus himself. Despite challenges, including financial setbacks and a shifting landscape in the music industry, he persevered, releasing his albums Chinthna Bhogna Bhavana, Ahshavadi, and Yego Pisolya.

Living abroad in the UK for the past 18 years with his family, he has continued to share his music and philanthropic spirit, organizing charity events with the help of his dear friend Alfred Bennis under his banner, Alfred Bennis Creations. Though miles away from his homeland, he has brought the essence of Konkani music to stages in London and Manchester, gathering immense support from both the local community and global viewers through YouTube releases, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was the first to organise and deliver a Konkani musical Nite in the United Kingdom.

In response to the pandemic, he composed and released three songs on YouTube, Kaslem Deva Anwar, Hya Pide Thavun, and Coronachi Kathak, which resonated deeply with viewers, showcasing the power of music to open eyes on current issues and unite during trying times.
