Mangaluru, Apr 23: Lourdes Central School kindergarten section held a summer amusement camp 2024 for the little ones from April 8 to 20.
The camp was held in the interest of the children to unplug from their daily academics, to explore different talents and to grow with new friends and ideas.
The inaugural day began with a beautiful prayer service. Our dear principal, Fr Robert D'Souza spoke to the children and wished them fun and frolic during the camp. Each day was an exciting one with new activities like zumba, yoga, dance, painting, games, songs and stories.
The highlight of this camp was pottery making which the children were excited and enjoyed the most. They made little pots and later painted them with beautiful motifs. The children also made colourful flower basket with marble paper which was appreciated by the parents and guests. They learnt many songs and dances. Story telling was initiated where they learnt listening and speaking skills.
Everyday the children were served with refreshments like cakes, biscuits, chips, samosas and juice. The finale was held on the April 20 where the children exhibited their talents through song, dance and speech. The parents who witnessed this, were full of admiration in seeing the little one’s performances.
Belita Mascarenhas our vice principal, who was the chief guest for the event, spoke to the campers and appreciated their performance. She also asked them to utilize their holidays in learning new songs of various languages and eat healthy veggies and fruits.
The programme ended with awarding of certificates. As a token of love the children were given takeaway gifts like Bowling sets and bubbles. The children were delighted and enjoyed their treats of ice cream and cake.
Overall, the camp was a truly enriching experience for the kids.
