Udupi, May 4: Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media, inaugurated the day-long mega job fair organized by Milagres College, Kallianpur, in association with Wizdom Institutions Network, Mangaluru, held at the college premises on Saturday, May 4.

Addressing the gathering, Walter Nandalike said, "Today, all these companies are doing divine work. Providing employment to one person means providing employment to a whole family. I started my career at Rs 750 in 1993. By following my passion, I am happy with where I am today. The companies participating today will not ask for your marks; they look for your skills. If we pursue our passion, we will surely achieve our dreams. Money will automatically come when you follow your passion. With 1,000 job openings available today, if you win, you will lead; if you fail, you will guide. This is a remarkable opportunity provided. Milagres institutions are recognized globally, and the alumni of this college hold prestigious positions worldwide."

Dr Vincent Alva, principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur, expressed in his address, "I dreamt that one day this college would achieve NAAC A+ grade, and we have accomplished it. Having 47 companies participate in such a rural college is a significant achievement. Every step marks a beginning, and victory is counted from the first step. Hard work is the sole factor in leading a successful life.”

In her introductory speech, Dr Francisca Tej of Wizdom Institutions Network stated, "It has been Dr Vincent Alva's long-time dream to organize a job fair. I myself studied in this college under the mentorship of Fr Valerian Mendonca and Dr Vincent Alva. Let not your aspirations be limited to just securing jobs; aim for long-term dreams. Those who solely focus on jobs may not succeed in the long run. It's noteworthy that 47 companies have come to the coastal region to participate in this job fair. I extend my gratitude to every corporate company participating today. We have received more than 1,000 registrations from job aspirants. While some may label it as unemployment, in reality, it is underemployment."

Dr Franscica Tej, co-founder of Wizdom Institutions Network and alumnus of the college was felicitated.

In his presidential remarks, Fr. Valerian Mendonca, the college correspondent, stated, "Talent must meet opportunity. Today, the Milagres campus is filled with a joyful atmosphere. It is disheartening that the talent bestowed upon us by our land in India often benefits the rest of the world. However, opportunities such as this job fair provide a platform for our talents to flourish."

Shekar Gujjarbettu, president of alumni association; Ganesh Mestha, president PTA association; members of corporate companies and job aspirants were present.

Prof Sophia Dias, vice principal read the felicitation address. Karthik Nayak, placement officer welcomed the gathering. Dr Jayaram Shettigar, IQAC coordinator proposed vote of thanks. Aparna, the faculty department of chemistry compered the programme.
