Kasargod: Five injured in private bus-lorry collision

Kasargod, May 13: Five individuals, including the bus driver, sustained injuries in a collision between a private bus and a lorry near Uppala gate on Monday morning, May 13.

The incident occurred when a container lorry, attempting to overtake another vehicle, collided head-on with the bus, which had stopped on the roadside for passengers to disembark.

Among the injured were the bus driver, Ashraf, a resident of Uppala, and four passengers. The front portion of the bus suffered severe damage, and the bus driver, trapped inside, was extricated by local residents with considerable effort.

Police from the Manjeshwar station, upon arrival at the scene, regulated traffic on the national highway, which had been disrupted by the accident.

The bus was en route from Talapady to Kasargod, while the lorry was heading towards Mangaluru. The collision was captured on CCTV.
