Udupi: Foodie Fiesta showcases culinary skills of SMVITM's MBA students

Udupi, May 28: The business administration (MBA) students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), organized Foodie Fiesta, under the theme 'Cooking without Fire' on May 25. This event provided a platform for the students to showcase their culinary talents and practical business skills.

A total of five teams, each consisting of two to four students, participated in the event, presenting a variety of innovative snacks and refreshing drinks, perfect for the summer season.

 

 

The participants not only prepared and presented their culinary delights but also sold their creations, gaining practical experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and finance. This hands-on experience offered valuable insights into the real-world application of their academic knowledge.

The event attracted attention from Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal; Dr Suraj Francis Noronha, director MBA; as well as deans and heads of departments, who attended, sampled, and purchased the delicacies prepared by the students.

Mouthwatering varieties of chats using potato chips, nachos, cucumber, and corn with various toppings, desserts like oreo donuts, ras malai, banana dessert, and choco delight, accompanied by tangy drinks such as pulse mojito and tangy tango, were made and served by the business administration students of SMVITM.

The competition was judged by Dr Deepika BV, head of the civil engineering department, and Savitha Shenoy, senior assistant professor. They evaluated the culinary creations with their expertise and insight.

The event was a resounding success, evidenced by the enthusiastic crowds around each stall.
