Kaup: Unidentified woman dies after falling from train

Kaup, Jun 14: An unidentified woman tragically died after falling from a train between the pillars of the railway track over the Udyavara Papanashini stream. The incident came to light on Friday evening.

The woman’s body was severely crushed and fell onto the beam of a large pillar on the railway track. The body was retrieved under the leadership of social worker Suri Shetty Kaup and ambulance staff Nagaraj from the Primary Health Center. Kaup police and railway police were present during the recovery operation. The deceased was later transported to Udupi Ajjarakadu mortuary.

A case has been registered at Kaup police station by Essay Abdul Khader and the Sibandis. The investigation is ongoing.

The deceased woman is believed to be a laborer from North India. She was found wearing a nightie and had a tali sare around her neck. Her purse contained 150 rupees. Authorities have requested anyone with information or who may be the heirs of the deceased to contact Kaup police station at 0820-2551033.
