Mangaluru, Jun 16: Student Council members took the oath of office at St Agnes High School, Bendore. The solemn investiture ceremony was held at St Agnes High School on Saturday, June 15. The momentous event began with an invocation. The prayer song 'It’s A Beautiful Day' was sung by Hina, Mayola, Prakrithi Roy, Darryle, Rachael and Snehal. The prayer emphasised the values of leadership and dedication.
The cabinet ministers along with the opposition party members marched to the rhythmic beats of the school band. The oath-taking ceremony was lead by the governor Sr Gloria A.C. The badges and sashes were conferred to the ministers by the assistant headmistress Prathima K B.
The highlight of the ceremony was the address by the governor Sr Gloria AC. She congratulated the newly inducted cabinet members and exhorted them to be confident, enthusiastic and trust in their abilities as leaders. The governor’s message was both motivational and inspiring.
The Alma mater St Agnes symbolically handed over the school flag to the SPL Pallavi and ASPL Shwetha. She encouraged them to be of service and uphold the motto 'God Is Our Strength'.
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic lighting of candles, representing the light of knowledge and responsibilities, the leaders would carry forward. As the governor lit the first candle of SPL and ASPL and opposition party leaders Dhrithi and Amulya, the flame was transferred to each member of the school parliament members symbolising the transfer of leadership and the collective efforts.
The investiture ceremony was compered by Shwetha, Lakshmi. The vote of thanks was rendered by Rithu Jean Lobo. With the heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
