Puttur: Woman found dead - Minor relative arrested for murder following indecent behaviour

Puttur, Jun 19: Police have ruled the death of Hemavati (37), a resident of Darkhasu in Bilinuru village near Perne, as a murder and have arrested a minor in connection with the case. The incident occurred on June 16 night.

The accused is a class 10 student, the nephew of the deceased, who was staying at Hemavati’s house for the night. According to the police investigation, the boy behaved indecently towards his aunt, and when she resisted, he strangled her to death.

Hemavati's husband, Vithala Pai, also known as Shailesh, from Maani village in Bantwal taluk, reported his suspicions regarding his wife’s death to the police. Following the complaint, the police conducted an investigation, leading to the arrest of the minor. The case has been officially registered as a murder, according to investigating officer Uppinangady rural police inspector Ravi.

    Agree..first comes self control followed by self wisdom and then personal prayers.... to understand what is good and what is bad for us!!! If there is no wisdom to understand the advantages and disadvantages/consequences ....of fulfilling a particular desire (which is common now a days) and also greed for having someone else's money by cheating will definitely end up in very grievous sorrows... that too life long...the sins which elders commit pass on to their generations.....sow good seeds reap good fruits...

    Cynthia DK ,I think I can tell you why many people disagree.From my point of view ,that boy isnt really the assaulter.More the father.Since boy is a minor and scapegot for father?Father must have pulled him to lie?Thatswhat I think.He wanted her house and more from her?When she resisted both must have conducted the assault?Only thinking.Otherwise why he is telling without doctors diagnosing she died of cardiac arrest?As Rajesh from Dubai says PHONOGRAPHY IS one of the causes(correction,it should be pornography)Well boy is still not reached that age.However to be a cardiac arrest we need more diagnose.Am sure they both must have helped! to her death .Bruse marks on his hands cant be a cause to kill her but self made?to comeout of affair .

    Hi Cynthia, Why you don't understand people dislike your comments. May be because many know that, Indian societies cover up everything in the name of prayers, society and God. Sex is a natural energy which needs to be addressed right thru education. Not from prayers where priests who supposed to pray a lot got themselves into so many sex scandals through out history. Middle class is going thru a crisis today. The information they get is selective and provocative and young minds are very vulnerable. It requires a lot of maturity to handle different situations differently. The issue is complex. While I am not condoning the act. We are in different territory now and so it requires different solutions and not just prayers.

    Gentleman, i forgot to mention one more thing. All are unique. For some s** must be an important matter of fact. Thats why such rapes/molestation/sexual atrocities are performed...If everyone does that then, where will be the world would reach ? Many have self control and self wisdom and many others dont...We cannot judge who is what ? Its a vast topic. It differs from person to person/dpends on situations/surroundings/family/friend circle/alcohol and so on.

    Earlier news report: "Hemavati married a youth from Mangaluru after a love affair, but the marriage ended in divorce six years ago. Since then, Hemavati had been living with her mother and working at a canteen in Boluvaru."??? Conflicting reports within two days creates confusion!!
