Mangaluru: Scooter rider dies four days after tipper accident

Mangaluru, Jul 2: Ganesh Acharya (27), son of Vishwanatha Acharya of Pavooru Aksharanagara, who was critically injured in an accident involving his scooter and a tipper truck on June 28, passed away in the hospital on Tuesday July 2.

Despite the prayers and financial contributions from well-wishers, relatives, and friends, Ganesh succumbed to his injuries. The accident occurred in front of the Harekala gram panchayat as Ganesh was traveling from Pavoor Harekala to Konaje. The tipper driver’s sudden braking caused Ganesh, who was riding behind the vehicle, to crash into it, resulting in serious injuries.

Locals, along with the tipper driver, immediately took Ganesh to a private hospital in Deralakatte. He was later transferred to another private hospital in Mangaluru for advanced medical treatment. Ganesh was the eldest son in his family, working as an AC mechanic to support his parents, brother, and sister.

A case has been registered against the tipper truck driver, Mohammed Hanif. Ganesh’s friends had sought financial assistance via WhatsApp for the surgery, which was estimated to cost Rs 10 lac.

    Very sad.Young man succumbed after the accident.Heartfelt sympathy to family.May his soul rest in Peace.One should drive keeping a distance to the front vehicle.Here one cant blame the tipper who put the brake suddenly.It was expected that any time one can apply brake. Too many vehicles on small roads.Important is owns safety keeping in mind.

    I have not seen any traffic Police checking driving license of tipper drivers, JCB drivers, they failed tocheck , city and service buses speed, overloading passengers, I didn't what types of duty they are doing. If they do their duty, society will save many life.

    OM SHANTHI...to the departed young mans soul... However... "A case has been registered against the tipper truck driver," - i do not know how appropriate is it... Because sudden braking could be dealt with by maintaining a safe distance.

    The article should say that the scooter rider did not keep safe distance . Braking is not a fault. Pot holed roads and sudden obstruction need sudden braking. Its not maintaining safe distance is the cause
